Mary Elizabeth Spacek sings and acts and is known in the entertainment world as Sissy Spacek who comes from Quitman, TX and will turn 61 on Christmas this year. She’s been entertaining with her performances for the past 4 decades. The portrayal of Carrie White in Carrie (’76) won her an Oscar nomination but also cemented her presence amongst audience. Prior to becoming widely popular, she went to NY in search of more work.

She initially produced 1 song before she got offered a part in Prime Cut (’70). Rolling Stone magazine gave this movie legend their front pages in ’79 and ’82. While she did not write her own biography, there is a book about her that was released in ’88. Away from the public eye, Sissy Spacek resides with her husband Jack Fisk in Virginia and in a 36 year marriage with him, she gave birth to 2 girls. At the end of eighties, she even retrieved from the acting to spend more time with her family.

While she’s known to portray serious characters, she is also very good in getting few chuckles out . In her spare time, she gives her voice to females to get them viewed and treated as an equal sex.
